As I mentioned in my last post, I've been doing interviews for my book about J. Allen Hynek, and learning some surprising things in the process. A few days ago, I interviewed Mark Rodeghier, who started as a volunteer to Dr. Hynek back in 1974 and now is the President of Hynek's Center for UFO Research, or CUFOS, and, even though I've talked with him a dozen times, he had a few surprises for me.
When it comes to UFOs, Mark knows just about everything, and what he doesn't know he can find out, because he's got every UFO expert in the word on speed-dial. And I like him because he recruited me to write this book in first place, and he recruited me because he read a few of my blog posts here on "High Strangeness. "And if that doesn't prove that anything is possible in this crazy, mixed-up world, I don't know what does.

Anyway, during the interview, Mark and I had a long talk about his experiences with one of the greatest UFO researchers of all time. I asked him which UFO incidents were his favorites, and he gave quite a list of sightings that were of personal significance to him. But along the way he talked about how these incidents have changed their nature over the years and how that has changed the way they've been investigated over the years... And at one point he said, "After all, what is a UFO incident? It just means, 'Something weird happened here.'"
I had to laugh! Here's one of the world's foremost experts on the UFO phenomenon -- if anyone had the right to take himself and the entire phenomenon entirely too seriously, it would be him -- and he boils the whole thing down to, "Something weird happened here." I love it!

Is it cosmic synergy and synchronicity or just a creative spirit that is making Arizona the focus of film and television projects linked to unusual phenomena?
The independent film "The Appearance of a Man" and the TV series "Paranormal Matrix" were both created in Arizona.
"The Appearance of a Man" will be featured at the 15th annual Sedona Film Festival which runs from Feb. 23 to March 1.
"The Appearance of a Man" earned two awards at the San Diego Film Festival in September 2008. These included Heineken's Red Star Award for Outstanding Film for Daniel Pace, writer, director, editor and executive producer. Lead actor and producer Michael Tassoni earned the festival's award for Best Actor.
The film also was also awarded Best Director at the Ohio University Film Festival, Best Feature at the Indie Fest and Best Cinematography at the Monaco Film Festival.
According to the film's press release, it is "an intriguing, visually stunning story that begins on the night of March 13, 1997, when strange lights were seen in the Phoenix sky. An unknown, yet somehow vaguely recognized man appears in the streets of Phoenix, touching off a series of extraordinary events in the lives of those he encounters."
Interestingly, in late January 2009, apparent new information began surfacing about the behind-the-scenes activities at Arizona's two major Air Force bases during the Phoenix Lights incident.
The small screen is also part of recent creative endeavors in Arizona. The TV series "Paranormal Matrix" is being marketed by Ken Liljegren and Gregg Housey of Spectrum Video ">

Melbourne: The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has recently taken responsibility for at least half of all UFO sightings between 1950s-60s, it has been reported.
A previously confidential CIA document has revealed that most of the sightings were actually U-2 spy planes, News.com.au reported.
The report, 'The CIA and the U-2 Program, 1954-1974', written by Gregory Pedlow and Donald Welzenbach, outlines the CIA's involvement in the development of the U-2 spy plane. It explains how the testing of the planes led to a massive increase in UFO reports.
The sensational 272-page document reveals how the agency tested U-2 spy planes at altitudes of 60,000ft above countries such as the Soviet Union.
At that time, most people were not aware manned flights were possible at these heights so many, including several pilots, reported sightings as UFOs.
In the mid-1950s, most commercial airliners flew between 10,000 and 20,000 feet, while military aircraft such as B-47s and B57s flew below 40,000 feet.
The document goes on to reveal that the CIA cross-referenced UFO sightings to U-2 flight logs and this enabled the investigators to eliminate the majority of the UFO reports although they could not reveal to the letter writers the true cause of the UFO sightings.

A eyewitness wrote a 12 page letter with 2 diagrams over what the lady observed over Strathcona Park Ottawa, Ontario. A huge craft, with windows sat over top of the water as she watched, she did not feel any bad feelings from the object, but was extremely taken back of that evenings UFO event. Al;so she spoke to a male friend later on after the sighting, and it sounds like he to was witness to possible the same craft, as described in this letter.

Donations To HBCC UFO Research
Well gang I was hoping not to ever go this route, in asking for donations to help keep HBCC UFO Research operating. But on a pension it is becoming more expensive and difficult for everything I do here at HBCC UFO Research and taking more of a bite out of the pension.
If you would care to lend a hand it would be greatly appreciated. I have placed a donation button on another page, external link. I want everyone to know this is an old site I use to operate when I stated up HBCC UFO Research years ago. I had to use this method as I have a problem adding an html code to my main website.
Also I should add, I don't know of anyone in the UFO field who makes any funds out of what they enjoy doing, all expenses that myself and others in the UFO field come straight out of our own pockets. I guess one has to have a passion for the topic, but it does get expensive for everything one does.

BLACK TRIANGLE SIGHTING IN HEUVELTON, NEW YORK ON JUNE 23RD 1997 - {RJL} LATE NIGHT CRAFT SIGHTINGTRIANGLULAR THREE ORANGE ORBS ONE CENTER BLINKING WHITE LIGHT 06/2007
I left work after finishing up on the 2nd shift and stopped to get gas in town. I remember thinking the weather was pretty clear and comfortable that night. Probably between 60 to 75 degrees fahrenheit. I left the gas station and around 1 1/2 miles later I was at a series of sharp curves just prior to entering a wooded area on my road. As I came around the bend I saw the triangular craft with solid orange orbs at the points and a blinking light in the middle hovering around 50 to 75 ft. over the tops of the trees. I guess the object was around 100 to 200 ft. long and half as wide. The appearance of it made me first freeze then my mind began to race. I stopped my car as soon as possible and was able to prevent myself from being located directly below the object. Looking up at the underneath of it I was a little afraid and definetly in shock. What was to happen next as it quickly became clear to me that the technology my eyes were looking at was without a doubt capable of being fatal too me or anything around it. I also had a slight feeling of lost time. I was probably sitting in my car with it parked in the middle of the road staring at this craft for about 8 mins., desperately trying to wrap my mind around the dark colored objects underneath on the bottom of it along with the brightness of the orange orbs. I tried but couldnt recognize any of the ships parts from other mechanical objects i recognize which just continued to startle but later amaze me. At about the four mins. remaining mark I realized it hovered there and Id heard entirely no sounds from the ship. The object was so clearly differently composed from anything I had ever seen before I continued to realize. It wasnt making any noticeable sounds but how? It should have been impossible for that to be true due to the size of the craft and how close I was located to it I shouldve heard it. I then once again tried to recognize any of the objects on the outside underneath of the craft to help me understand how this object could float there so idly and seemingly effortlessly. At this point I guess I had been looking at the craft in fear and amazement for about 12 mins. It then moved away and out of my eye sight maneuvering in a "z" like pattern incredibly fast and was gone without a trace. I assume it had to be faster than the speed of light.

Here are some remarkable photos taken during the Gemini flights.
The first photo shows two remarkable objects, what appears to be UFOs.
Are these alien lightships? Or is it just a a classic burn. (The film sticks to itself sometimes during the development process and causes the emulsion to "burn" at the point the two layers are touching.)
In June 1965, Major James McDivitt saw, filmed, and photographed another similar object, which approached the Gemini IV (3rd June - 7th June 1965) capsule in which they were orbiting the Earth, passing over Hawaii.
He stated: "It had a very definite shape - a cylindrical object - it was white - it had a long arm that stuck out on the side." (Second photo)
When McDivitt got back to Earth he later asked to see what he had filmed and was shown a completely different piece of film with only whited out sun drenched footage. He said this was not what he had seen or filmed.
So... the objects are either asymmetrical metallic alien spacecraft surrounded by a blue 'plasma shield' of sorts or.. (more likely; almost certainly) as stated: A hole burned into the film.

I was hiking in the Mojave Desert near Desert Center, CA when I met two men camping for the night to watch for UFOs. They'd been doing this at the same spot for over 20 years and said they'd always see them. At dusk we saw a bright light about 30 degrees above the horizon to the northeast. It was pulsating and moving very slowly toward us. I shot video of it and watched for 5 minutes or so, then went to other things, until I noticed it passing overhead, perhaps 10 minutes later. By then I could see other smaller lights on it, one red and an outline that could have been square but the sky was very dark. No strobe lights. No sound. And estimated altitude of 5,000 - 10,000 feet. I assumed it must be a plane and did not observe it further but we were in a very remote and uninhabited part of the desert and 80-100 miles from the nearest airport at Palm Springs. Since then I've researched and cannot find evidence of the single bright pulsating light on other planes. Multiple pulsating light systems are used when landing and taking off to warn off birds but we were too far from any airport for that. My feeling after seeing this is that it was unusual for the slow speed and the single pulsating light and the fact that it seemed to be used for a beacon to draw attention to it. There was no other air traffic at the time. Later that night we observed normal very high planes at 30,000 feet or more. If this light was a normal aircraft light I would like corroboration of that but until then it is "unidentified" in my mind.

I was asked recently if I could provide a summarized time-line of the events leading up to, and including, those described in my "BODY SNATCHERS IN THE DESERT" book. Well, yes, I can!
It goes like this...
During the latter stages of the Second World War, the Japanese military is working to perfect highly advanced balloons as a weapon of war - to the extent that on 4 June 1945, a Japanese military spokesman states that the Fugo balloon launches of the previous few months are merely precursors for something far more dangerous, including large-scale attacks with death-defying Japanese manning the balloons.
The new balloons, American experts estimate, will be at least sixty feet in diameter and will be able to carry a pressurized gondola containing four relatively small men to a height of around 30,000 feet as the balloons travel upon their stratospheric, four-day flights across the Pacific to the United States. Similarly, declassified FBI, CIA, Air Force and British Government memoranda reveals that in the same time frame, the Germans are actively pursuing several new and novel aviation-based projects, including the construction of circular and elliptical shaped aircraft - a number of which are based upon the groundbreaking and revolutionary work of the Horten brothers.
In addition, extensive wartime research is conducted by the Japanese Government's Unit 731 and by Nazi scientists into the extremely controversial area of human medical experimentation. A large body of that same experimentation is devoted to better understanding the effects of high-altitude exposure on human beings and is undertaken, in part, on physically handicapped individuals.
At the close of hostilities, scientific, aviation and medical experts from Japan and Germany are secretly brought to the United States - via Project Paperclip and its Japanese equivalent - where human experimentation and advanced aircraft research continues unabated and under the strictest security. As President Clinton's Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments notes: At least 1,600 scientists and their dependents were recruited and brought to the United States by Paperclip and its successor projects through the early 1970s.
The ACHRE also notes with respect to the time period in question that a number of potentially important collections could not be located and were evidently lost or destroyed. Similarly, the Committee reveals, a number of those same document collections related to experiments undertaken in the fields of biomedicine, defense and space exploration; and in the great majority of these cases only fragmentary data remained. Where programs were legitimately kept secret for national security reasons, states the Committee, the government often did not create or maintain adequate records, thereby preventing the public, and those most at risk, from learning the facts in a timely and complete fashion.
In the aftermath of the War, a number of military research sites recruit Paperclip scientists with backgrounds in aero-medicine, radiobiology and ophthalmology, including the Air Force's School of Aviation Medicine, from where experiments into total-body irradiation, space medicine, space biology and flash-blindness are undertaken; and the White Sands Proving Ground becomes home to the V2 rockets developed by - and captured from - Nazi Germany during the War.
In addition, at the same time that the Paperclip personnel are actively being brought to the United States, the Air Force's Aero Medical Center gives its top priority to the translation of manuscripts providing a complete picture of German aviation medicine.
Further advances are made in the field of aviation in post-war America: on 26 May 1946, the Air Force awards to the Fairchild Engine and Airplane Corporation a contract that establishes Fairchild as the responsible agency of the NEPA nuclear aircraft project; and the Holloman Balloon Branch, Holloman AFB, New Mexico, eventually goes on to become a recognized component of the space-race, via its involvement in the Discoverer program.
Crucially, the National Archives and Records Administration at Maryland makes available a document concerning the early years of research at White Sands and Holloman: Little information is available on specific events with regard to range safety during this period, it reveals. And on 1 July 1947, Major Curtis E. LeMay, Major General, U.S. Army, Deputy Chief of Air Staff for Research and Development, orders that research into the biological effects of radiation on Japanese individuals should begin.
In the summer of 1947 and against this backdrop of (a) nuclear and biological tests on human subjects; (b) revolutionary aircraft programs; and (c) an influx of senior scientific, medical and aviation experts into the United States from Japan and Germany, a series of events and accidents occur on and near the White Sands Proving Ground, New Mexico and collectively become known as The Roswell Incident. Witnesses at several crash sites report seeing the remains of unusual-looking aircraft and small bodies, some with enlarged, bald heads and Asian or Oriental-like features.
On 19 August 1947, FBI Special Agent S. W. Reynolds informs Bureau director, J. Edgar Hoover, that in a meeting with an Air Force colonel, the colonel expresses his firm belief that, the flying discs originate with a highly classified experiment of the Army or Navy.
In the immediate wake of the Roswell affair, Dr. Lincoln La Paz of the University of New Mexico - and a wartime expert on the Fugo balloons - becomes deeply embroiled in the Roswell controversy; the ramifications of the Nuremberg Code begin to reverberate and rumble within the United States; and, as the 3 November 1947 issue of the Biology Division Bulletin of the Clinton National Laboratory reveals, staff at Oak Ridge (home of the nuclear aircraft program) take an active interest in experimentation undertaken to determine the effect of radioactive iodine on dwarfs and those afflicted with Progeria - a syndrome that results in a small stature, an enlarged, bald-head and on occasion extra fingers and toes.
In official FBI memoranda, Colonel Clyde D. Gasser, Air Material Command, U.S. Army and the principal army technician at the NEPA project at Oak Ridge, discusses with the FBI his theories linking flying saucers with nuclear aircraft research; and on 4 October 1949, the NEPA Medical Advisory Committee concludes that, with regard to the nuclear aircraft program, live, human experimentation is the number one priority.
During the same time, an official report of the Air Force's UFO investigative unit, Project Grudge, recommends that the military's psychological warfare personnel should be apprised of the results of the Grudge study. Notable is the Department of Defense's official definition of psychological warfare: "The planned use of propaganda and other psychological actions having the primary purpose of influencing the opinions, emotions, attitudes, and behavior of hostile foreign groups in such a way as to support the achievement of national objectives."
In the same time frame that the military, the Psychological Strategy Board and the CIA are looking at the ways in which the flying saucer mystery can be used as a tool of psychological warfare, Brigadier General W.M. Garland, USAF, informs General John Samford, Air Force Director of Intelligence, that it is logical to assume that some reported flying saucer sightings could conceivably be related to the development of aircraft borne out of the work of the Horten brothers.
Operation Klondike is initiated and employs the use of a crashed UFO cover story for the transfer of Hungarian treasures, including the crown of St. Stephen; and in 1955 Dr. Willard Libby of the Atomic Energy Committee's Project Sunshine states that accessing human samples is of prime importance and if anyone knows how to do a good job of body-snatching, they will really be serving their country.
From wartime Japan to Operation Sunshine, that, pretty much, is the controversial timeline of events...

Let's examine some of the enigmatic personalities behind the INITIAL RUMORS about the alleged Dulce base - how it all started, i.e., 1979 through 1983.
PAUL BENNEWITZ.......owner of THUNDER SCIENTIFIC CORPORATION "(contractor to KIRTLAND AFB)", located right next to the entrance of KIRTLAND AFB in Albuquerque, NM, presently operated by his sons...............from around 1979 Paul Bennewitz began to witness some strange lights hovering over Manzano underground nuclear storage area, not too far from his residence in the Four Hills area of Albuquerque.
Some researchers ("such as GREG BISHOP") theorize that he was looking at some tests of Project Starfire ("laser-based optical tracking system being developed at that time by SANDIA LABORATORIES next to Manzano") or possibly some tests of prototypes of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) developed by Sandia Laboratories at that time.......Paul Bennewitz later became convinced that those objects were somehow related to an underground base in northern New Mexico near Dulce.....articles on Bennewitz soon began to appear in newspapers such as the Albuquerque Journal and Albuquerque Tribune.
Paul Bennewitz began to suffer from paranoia and was later institutionalized......he passed away in 2003....his remains are buried in Veterans Cemetery in Santa Fe......Paul Bennewitz' sons seem to refuse to be interviewed.....the main reason being that THUNDER SCIENTIFIC CORPORATION still does business with KIRTLAND AFB....they sell military grade humidifiers and callibration instruments, many of which were developed,modified and improved by the late Paul Bennewitz.....Paul Bennewitz' wife, Cindy Bennewitz, still lives at the residence, which is located close to the Manzano underground nuclear storage facility ("which allegedly was closed down in 1992") in the Four Hills area of Albuquerque.....
MYRNA HANSEN......in 1980 she claimed to have been abducted near Cimarron, NM and claimed to have been taken to an unknown underground location......She was at at that time a resident of Eagle Nest, New Mexico......Paul Bennewitz interviewed her at his house, together with Leo Sprinkle who did a hypnotic regression....Paul Bennewitz later on decided that she must have been taken into the Dulce base.....this was allegedly only after Bennewitz begun to suspect that there was a base in Dulce....later on, a Richard C. Doty ("who was with AFOSI Kirtland AFB at that time") suggested to her that she might have been taken to an undergound weapons storage facility.
TOM ADAMS......he was investigating cattle mutilations in the late 1970s....Tom Adams first heard about the Dulce base from reading Paul Bennewitz' article in newspaper and other sources from around 1981....it is alleged that Tom Adams knew "Ann West").
"ANN WEST"......her true identity is not confirmed, although Tal Levesque claims that she is on Facebook with a different name (Cherry Hinkle, who claims that her "half-alien" cat has lived for 29 years).......alleged to have been an acquaintance of Tom Adams...claimed to have drawn the initial pictures of the vats of the Dulce base in 1987, yet claims to have never heard of Paul Bennewitz before........allegedly knew Tal Levesque....also claims to have known "Thomas Edwin Castello".....Tal Levesque claims that she visited him and his wife and also "Thomas Edwin Castello" in Santa Fe......Tal Levesque claims that Ann West is dangerous and is part of the "invisible government"......However, Levesque's claim (that Ann West is part of the "invisible government") could be disinformation.
JOHN LEAR.......heard about Dulce allegedly from "Ann West".... befriended TAL through John Grace (a.k.a. Val Valerian)......according to Tal Levesque, John Lear retouched the Dulce drawings of "Ann West" that he received in 1987......he first came up with his Hypothesis in 1988 about Dulce and also about Area 51....John Lear has never been taken seriously by the UFO community....some people suspect that John Lear purposely throws in some ridiculous-sounding items as part of PSYOPS....he recently claimed that there are cities on the back side of the moon.
TAL LEVESQUE.....a.k.a., TAL or JASON BISHOP.......(his real name is Thomas Allen LeVesque....French for "The Bishop", thus his a.k.a.)....he claimed that he worked in Santa Fe as a security person for a private company around 1980 or 1981.....he claimed to have begun contact with "Thomas E. Castello" who, Tal Levesque claims, worked in the same company in Santa Fe......."Thomas E. Castello" allegedly revealed his secrets to Tal....("the secret was that there was an underground U.S./alien bio-lab under Archuleta Mesa, next to Dulce and that he had worked as a security person at that facility").....but before coming out with this "Thomas Edwin Castello" story, Tal Levesque also seems to have heard initially about the Dulce base rumors from reading about Paul Bennewitz....Tal Levesque claimed that he was visited by a tall Reptoid at his home in Santa Fe in 1979......he currently lives in Mariposa, California.
"THOMAS EDWIN CASTELLO".....of course, there are many persons with the same name.....however, a retired Air Force Colonel who claims that he was involved in Dulce, claims that there has never been a Thomas Edwin Castello that was ever employed as security personnel in Dulce.
CHRISTA TILTON.......some researchers seem to say that she came to the scene slightly after "Ann West".....they say that Christa Tilton and Tom Adams were initially partners.....and that she was in touch with Myrna Hansen......according to Tim Beckley, Christa Tilton later on got together with Wendell Stevens.....Christa Tilton was said to have distributed her manuscript, "The Bennewitz Papers" in 1987......She claimed that she was in touch with a Richard C. Doty ("formerly with AFOSI at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque")......Christa Tilton was featured on a Japanese TV program about the Dulce base back in 1989 and 1990.....Christa Tilton flew over Archuleta Mesa and over Soldier Canyon with Junichi Yaoi of Nippon TV in 1989....she appeared on Japanese TV a couple of times....and claimed to have taken a photo of a circular structure over Soldier Canyon, which is slightly SW of Dulce....Tilton, in her manuscript "The Bennewitz Papers" expressed her belief that the whole "Thomas E. Castello" story was a fabrication......"Ann West", in turn, reportedly claimed that Christa Tilton's information was not credible.
BRANTON.......a.k.a., BRUCE WALTON......beginning in the early 1990s, he compiled a book called the DULCE BOOK....and aslo DULCE WARS.....Walton allegedly got most of the information from TAL...some from John Lear, some from Val Valerian (John Grace)....Tal Levesque claimed that Bruce Walton was incarcerated in 2009 in Utah for felony charges.
GABE VALDEZ.......retired New Mexico State Patrol Officer who was in charge of the Dulce area for many years (from the early 1970s to the late 1980s)......he passed away on August 6, 2011 at his residence in Albuquerque....Valdez claimed that the government was most likely responsible for the cattle mutilations which started happening from around 1975.......he claimed that the government may have begun to periodically monitor the radiation levels of certain cattle some years later, after the 1967 underground nuclear explosion (Project Gasbuggy) which took place about 22 miles southwest of Dulce.....Valdez also stated that the government "staged" several UFO incidents in the Dulce area ("Archuleta Mesa, etc.)" by use of high tech equipment such as prototypes of holographic image projections as well as unmanned aerial vehicles or remotely-controlled platforms that were made to resemble "flying saucers"....Valdez believed that bio-warfare experiments were conducted at Dulce and that "UFO/alien" stories were concocted by the government as cover stories to conceal various Black Projects in the area.
WILLIAM "BILL" MOORE.....who first propagated (or "revived") the story about Roswell in 1980 when he (together with Charles Berlitz) published the book INCIDENT AT ROSWELL ("until this book came out", "most Americans had no interest or knowledge about the Roswell incident since it was long forgotten and dismissed as misidentification by the U.S. Army in 1947")......he claims that around the same time that he began to propagate the Roswell story, he was working with Richard Doty of Kirtland AFB and participated in a disinformation ploy to saturate Paul Bennewitz ("who was pursuing his independent investigations on Dulce") with false information on the Dulce base.....so he claimed in a 1989 MUFON Conference that took place in Las Vegas, NV....however there is no verifiable documentation whatsoever that Moore participated in such disinformation ploy in any official capacity.....except for his verbal "confession" that he made at a 1989 MUFON conference in Las Vegas, Nevada).
RICHARD C. DOTY.....initially with Kirtland AFB AFOSI around 1979, 1980 and 1981......he was not a high-ranking officer.....he claims he participated in disinformation, along with Moore.....again, there is no documentation that he participated in such disinformation ploy at Kirtland AFB AFOSI in any official capacity.....even though Paul Bennewitz' name and Doty's name appear on one or two Kirtland OSI documents because Kirtland AFB invited Bennewitz to testify to what he allegedly was seeing over Manzano storage areas.....later on Richard C. Doty became a promoter of the SERPO PROJECT ("which some researchers seem to describe as being a total fabrication")...Project Camelot seems to have bought Doty's story hook, line and sinker......presently he is working as New Mexico Highway Patrol Officer....about to retire in a couple of months.

The most sane person, SURPRISINGLY, may have been Paul Bennewitz himself and Gabe Valdez.
It is quite possible that Paul Bennewitz had long only PRETENDED that he had been "brainwashed" by some within the AFOSI, while he continued to conduct his own investigations into Dulce. But, nevertheless, he couldn't himself overcome his growing paranoia. Another possible scenario may have been that there was a dissension among the AFOSI and an element among the group may have provided Bennewitz with some crucial information on Dulce.

UFO traveling north-south flys over rural farm area slowly and silently.
UFO sighted while driving down a back road in rural county. It appeared to look like a large red planet but much brighter. It appeared due north and was traveling due south at the stroke of midnight. It appeared to sit still for 1-2 minutes and it became more dim as it got closer.
As it was passed overhead, the amber light disappeared and we started seeing what appeared to be white flashing lights. Within the white flashing lights you could see almost every color in the spectrum. It appeared to be triangle/diamond shaped and made absolutely no noise. Couldn't judge the distance and felt disoriented after viewing it. It appeared to disappear in the distance but video indicates scattered flashing lights.

"T-Shaped" lighted craft travels North-South across sky at low altitude, makes very soft, hollow whistling noise, sky flashes
I went out to smoke a cigarette at 5:25 AM on Friday, September 5, and immediately noticed a "T" shaped craft with 6 bright amber lights (three on each side describing a "T" shape) and two tiny white strobes (one on each arm of the "T").
Craft was flying low from North to South at about the speed of a commercial jet on final approach for landing. There are no airports here. I determined the altitude by following the sound the craft made, which was a soft, hollow whistling noise as it passed overhead. Did not sound like any jet aircraft I've heard before; it was very quiet.
Sky flashed a dim green as craft passed overhead, like heat lightning. Skies clear.
No Port and Starboard running lights observed. Sighting lasted approximately one minute, until craft receded behind treeline.

NASA is marking two milestones in the search for planets like Earth; the successful completion of the Kepler Space Telescope's three-and-a-half-year prime mission and the beginning of an extended mission that could last as long as four years. Scientists have used Kepler data to identify more than 2,300 planet candidates and confirm more than 100 planets. Kepler is teaching us that the galaxy is teeming with planetary systems and that planets are prolific, and is giving us hints that nature makes small planets efficiently. So far, hundreds of Earth-size planet candidates have been found, as well as candidates that orbit in the habitable zone, the region in a planetary system where liquid water might exist on the surface of a planet. None of the candidates is exactly like Earth. With the completion of its prime mission, Kepler now has collected enough data to begin finding true sun-Earth analogs -- Earth-size planets with a one-year orbit around stars similar to the sun. "The initial discoveries of the Kepler mission indicate at least a third of the stars have planets and the number of planets in our galaxy must number in the billions," said William Borucki, Kepler principal investigator at NASA's Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif. The books present evidence to show that geophysical activity in crystalline rock structures, especially along fault lines, produces a piezoelectric effect. That subsurface pressure generates electromagnetic fields above the fault lines, and in those fields, hot electrified balls of gas are formed - ionized plasmas. Those ionized plasmas are luminous atmospheric phenomena, and that is what Devereux calls earth lights. Now, aerial luminosities have been noted throughout history around the world, but their origin has been attributed to supernatural causes and labelled as "will-o'-the-wisp," ignis fatuus, ghost lights, and so forth. Dr. Michael Persinger, a psychologist at Laurentian University in Canada, and Gyslaine Lafreni`ere, a research scientist there, demonstrated in their 1977 book entitled "Space-Time Transients and Unusual Events "that such phenomena may have a terrestrial origin and be capable of inducing many effects in the minds of human observers, depending on their distance from the site, such as have been noted in UFO sightings and even abductions. Devereux and his colleagues' research, independent of Persinger and Lafreni`ere's, has enlarged upon the possibility that tectonically generated earth lights may account for some UFO sightings and mysterious ghostly figures. This line of research is collectively known as the tectonic strain theory. Geophysicists have investigated this phenomenon for a long time because of reports during earthquake activity that the shaking earth was accompanied by aerial lights. The lights weren't called UFOs, of course - just strange luminosities which sometimes appeared in association with earthquakes. In the mid-1980s, the US Geological Survey, in its journal "Earthquakes and Volcanoes", published the first photo of one ever. It was snapped by someone with enough presence of mind to shoot it during an earthquake here in the US. A vaguely defined ball of light about six feet wide is clearly visible in the air. So there you have several terrestrial-based phenomena which seem to me to explain some UFO sightings and, except for the possibility of undersea ET bases, they have absolutely nothing to do with craft from outer space. But the list of terrestrial-based explanations needs to be enlarged by one - and a very strange one, indeed. It takes us right up to the border of physical nature and passes over into the metaphysical, or more precisely, into the parapsychological. I'll call it the psychokinetic explanation. ND: Psychokinetic? As in mind over matter? JW: Yes. The Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung is known for his contribution to psychology of the concept he termed "the collective unconscious." He hypothesised that we human beings have not only a personal unconscious, which Freud demonstrated, we also have a deeper layer of mind which is somehow shared by everyone, and this aspect of our minds includes memories of human experiences from the beginnings of our race. Ancient symbols reside in our minds, such as the Wise Old Man, the Hero and the Evil One, representing the collective experience of humanity in certain basic categories. In his book "Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Sky", Jung proposed that UFOs are symbolic projections of deep human yearnings for wholeness and transformation in the collective psyche of humanity. Without denying their physical nature - because, of course, UFOs have been photographed and tracked on radar - Jung speculated that UFOs are either our own psychic projections perceived objectively in the sky or they are the appearance of real objects which afford humans an opportunity to project mythological symbols from deep in the collective psyche. The oldest symbol of wholeness or totality is the circle. So flying saucers, Jung said - those round shining objects in the sky - require a psychological interpretation as a symbol of the human yearning for certainty and completeness in an age of rapid change and uncertainty. Some UFOs may be the creation of our own minds. Sounds wild, doesn't it? But there is some research supporting that. In the 1970s, Dr. Gertrude Schmeidler, a parapsychologist at City College of New York, conducted research with the well-known psychic Ingo Swann. In a completely darkened laboratory, she photographed Swann as he used mental intention and his psychokinetic power of mind over matter to envision light streaming from his outstretched arms. Guess what? The photos showed a visible glow around Swann's hands. So if one person's mental intention can produce a physical effect such as that, what might the collective intention and unconscious psychic ability which everyone seems to have in some degree produce? I don't think that's far-fetched. In fact, one psychic I know, Stella Lansing of Massachusetts, used to get photos of UFOs which no one else ever saw in the sky. They were beautiful 35 mm colour slides of well-formed, clearly visible, apparently metallic craft. The only problem with her photos was this: in at least one instance which I examined, the image of a UFO extended from one frame across the intervening section of film onto the succeeding frame! Now, as you know, that intervening section of film is not exposed to light from outside the camera. It's mechanically impossible to do that. There's absolutely no way those two frames could represent an actual object in space outside the camera. So the image had to have been generated directly inside the camera by Stella's own psychokinetic power. This psychic phenomenon is called thoughtography, and psychiatrist Jules Eisenbud, who investigated the phenomenon in a man named Ted Serios, has established the case for such mind over matter photography. This interaction between mind and matter, between the physical brain and the metaphysical mind, and taking place at a distance, points toward the last major category of UFO phenomena which I see as yet another piece of the puzzle. METATERRESTRIAL Metaterrestrial means something which originates outside the ordinary three-dimensional space-time framework in which we normally function. The word is synonymous with metaphysical, meaning "beyond the physical," but it has a more scientific connotation to it, like hyperspace and quantum space do. Some people call that realm extradimensional, interdimensional, ultraterrestrial and supraphysical. Whatever word we use for it, this category of answer provides evidence that some UFO experiences are due to nonphysical but real entities which come not from other locations in our physical universe but from other sets of dimensions or other realms which interpenetrate our more familiar space-time. In short, and as Dr. Jacques Vall'ee first pointed out in his 1968 book "Passport to Magonia", many UFO incidents appear to be contemporary versions of what was recorded long ago in mythology, religious scripture and spiritual traditions as encounters with angels, demons and the various inhabitants of other planes of existence. Through a process we don't understand, these metaterrestrial beings materialise into our space-time from other levels or other realms of reality. Those levels or realms have a wide range of beings which are native to them, just as our own level of reality has creatures ranging from viruses to whales and from algae to redwoods. I think the best case to illustrate this is the famous miracle at Fatima, Portugal, which occurred in 1917. It's popularly known in Roman Catholic tradition as "the day the Sun danced" and as "the day the Sun fell" because a brilliant Sun-like object came near the ground. Thousands of people witnessed it. Some Ufologists regard the Fatima events as a display of advanced technology in which ETs are manipulating human belief systems via holographic projections. I acknowledge that possibility. But there is another tradition - namely, Eastern religion - which offers detailed information about a class of celestial beings whose characteristics are remarkably similar to what was seen at Fatima. Moreover, some UFO contactees describe meetings with nonphysical entities who materialise into our space-time continuum from other sets of dimensions or higher planes of existence. Those nonphysical entities have been called names such as Space Brothers, extradimensionals and ultraterrestrials, and their existence is said to be on a scale enormously beyond the human, just as ours is beyond that of insects, which in turn are similarly beyond microbes. From the metaterrestrial level of reality, it is said, these higher forms of life influence and even guide human affairs. The most common name for them is "deva", a Sanskrit word which means "shining one" or "radiant being." It is the conceptual equivalent of what we moderns call an angel. More generally, it means a being of light. Devas are said to belong to another kingdom of life. They are a separately created, very high order of existence which has the role of supervising lower orders. Devas exist in a nonphysical but ontologically real form magnitudes of cosmological order beyond the human level. Considered abstractly in scientifically oriented terms, devas can be described as conscious, formative principles which guide and regulate life forms below them in the ladder of creation or the great chain of being, irrespective of space-time coordinates. Hinduism and Tibetan Buddhism are especially rich in information about devas. Some signs which announce the presence of these normally unseen entities are the sudden appearance of rainbows and perfume, multicoloured flower blossoms falling from the air, sudden high winds, various celestial phenomena such as shooting stars and lights in the sky, and multicoloured clouds forming themselves into unusual shapes. I am not here to defend nor to put Bob Lazar down. The fact is that Bob Lazar has been categorized as a fraud by most so-called UFO researchers and the public-at-large, although there are still some who hold on to the belief that Bob Lazar was who he said he was and that he did everything that he claimed.
One person that still totally and adamantly supports Bob Lazar's claims is KLAS-TV Eyewitness News anchorman, George Knapp, and of course, Bob's friend, Las Vegas real estate appraiser, Gene Huff.
Is Bob Lazar a total fraud? I am still not sure on this. I still do have some unanswered questions. As for Bob Lazar's timeline, the whole world had already been familiar with Tom Mahood's timeline of Lazar, which he published in 1994.

As I said above, personally, I still have some unanswered questions on Bob Lazar:
It was on February 21, 1990 that a crew of Nippon Television Network (NTV) of Japan and I (total of 7) had an opportunity to visit and interview Bob Lazar at his residence in Las Vegas. This was made possible through Bob's friend, real estate appraiser, Gene Huff.We arrived at Bob's residence around 11 a.m., or so, to the best of my recollection. They took us to the living room, which at that time did not seem to me to be fully furnished and "lived".
They showed us Bob's study room, which also did not seem to me to be fully furnished. Yes, there were a few books on physics on the bookshelf and there were computers on his desk.
In any case, the interview was conducted by a writer from a magazine and I was simply there as an interpreter.
The interview lasted about two hours. When we arrived at his house, there were about 5 or 6 men in the house. At first I thought they were simply Bob's friends. But later on I noticed something unusual about some of those men. It seemed that throughout the interview, whether in the living room or in Bob's study room, two men were constantly on each side of Bob. One of them seemed to have a rectangular black communications equipment with him. Perhaps it could have been a cellphone (although this was in 1990).
When we moved to the kitchen area, those two men also moved alongside Bob. When we moved to Bob's study room, those men also moved together with Bob. So we asked Bob, "who are these men?" Bob simply said that, "don't worry, these are just friends". Perhaps this was nothing. But I just thought to bring this up, because that's the one thing throughout the interview that impressed me the most.
What do I think of Bob? I still cannot come to a conclusion. In any case, later that Wednesday afternoon, the TV crew and I drove about 2 hours from Las Vegas and reached the location where Bob had said we would see a test flight of a object arising over the Groom Mountains.
And, indeed, immediately after sundown and after haveing set up the TV cameras, etc. on the dirt road (right next to Hwy 375), Lord, behold!, around 6:45 p.m. we observed a bright orangish light appearing over the Groom Mountains and made some interesting maneuvers.
I was quite impressed at that time. Around 7:15 p.m., another light came up. In any case, this was the beginning of my real interest in Area 51, before Area 51 was even a household name at that time.
As the years went by, I came to dismiss my initial excitement about those sightings. I came to the conclusion that those lights were a test-flying of our aircraft (such as prototypes of newer black triangular craft) (or possibly, the initial phases of test-flights of UAVs, or "unmanned aerial vehicles", or even "unmanned combat aerial vehicles" (UCAVs), or other remotely-controlled platforms.
As the years went by, I also began to have some questions regarding Bob Lazar. A few years later, I did see a copy of Bob Lazar's paycheck. It wasn't much. Something like about 958.00. Then I found out that Bob Lazar's Social Security Number did not belong to Bob Lazar but to a lady in New York. Also, I began to have doubts on Bob Lazar for his not keeping the promise that he would fly to Japan in early March of 1990 to appear live on the 2-hour Japanese TV program on Area 51. I was waiting for his flight from Vegas to Los Angeles where I was to meet him. He never showed up. Later on, the producer of the TV program said that he got an urgent call from Bob that Bob was not allowed to go to Japan to appear on that program. This was a total disappointment.
Also, later on, I was informed that Bob had kept the honorarium which was a guarantee that he would appear on the program live in Japan. Nevertheless, in mid March of 1990, a two-hour prime time TV Special on Area 51 was aired in Japan (without the live appearance portion of the program) and was seen by millions and millions of people there, when Area 51 wasn't even known by a lot of the American public.
What do I think of Bob Lazar? Like I said, I still cannot conclusively dismiss him totally. He is a genius in science and technology, no doubt about that. The whole world, by now, also knows that Bob Lazar moved to New Mexico in the Sandia Mountains, next to Albuquerque. (P.S. He left Albuquerque in 2008 and moved to Michigan).

It is my understanding that he still does some contract work occasionally for various defense-related sub-contractors (not the direct contractors). His present activities also include United Nuclear, his main business.
Was Bob Lazar part of a disinformation campaign? Was he a witting participant or was he manipulated unwittingly in the disinformation ploy? I do not know.
What I also know is that Bob Lazar had a huge debt while he worked in New Mexico, prior to moving in to Nevada. What I also know is that the Air Force did benefit from the belief by a segment of the population (and a push by a segment of the population to promote this theory) that Area 51 was somehow associated with extraterrestrial technology. It definitely helped in bringing about the "laughter curtain" to Area 51, which was needed as a "cover story".
It is my understanding that occasionally, "cover stories" are created by defense contractors during certain projects to draw attention away from or to bring up a "laughter curtain" to discret researchers' scrutiny of such projects. But again, I could be wrong.
STRANGE BEHAVIOR OF BOB LAZAR PART II
In 1991, my former colleague, Gary Schultz and I organized an "Ultimate UFO Seminar" in the Little A-le-Inn (at that time known as Rachel's Bar and Grill). Despite little prior notice on this event, that memorable evening, the entire inn was filled with people. It was standing room only. There weren't any space left even to walk around. The only speakers were Gary Schultz and myself. We did not invite any particular guests, but we were surprised to see Lincoln County Sheriff himself, Dahl Bradfield, seated inside. We were also astonished to see William Cooper (who, later on became a rabble-rousing militiaman and was killed a few years ago in Arizona) seated also, silently listening to our presentation. There was Anthony J. Hilder (a rabble-rousing former talk show host in Alaska) in the crowd. We also noticed that Sean Morton (an unknown enthusiast at that time who later on became a well-known self-professed "prophet" through his appearances on the wacky Art Bell show) was seated. (I am ashamed to say that I myself was a rabble-rouser at that time who also had appeared on the wacky Art Bell radio show a few times!).
As Gary and I continued with our speech, we were surprised to see John Lear (son of the inventor of the Lear Jet) enter the room. A little later, the door opened again and here comes George Knapp, KLAS-TV news anchorman. Then about 30 minutes later, we were astonished to see Bob Lazar enter the room, together with his girlfriend. There was no space left for them to be seated.
We never expected these individuals to be there. Literally, the entire Little A-le-Inn was filled with so many so-called UFO "luminaries", all in one place. There must have been at least 95 to 110 people there.
Bob Lazar and his girlfriend stood in the kitchen, initially appearing to be looking towards us and listening to our presentations. But, instead, what we noticed was that Bob Lazar was continually laughing at Gary Schultz while he was giving the serious lecture. It seemed as if Lazar was mocking the entire Area 51/S-4 topic as if he himself didn't believe in it. I simply could not understand the reaction of Bob Lazar. There may be nothing to this, but I just felt that his behavior was a little odd.
Two years later, in 1993, again Gary Schultz and I organized a much larger "Ultimate UFO Seminar" at the same place. However, this time we anticipated a much larger crowd so we decided to have it outside during the daytime, right next to the Little A-le-Inn. I believe it was in March. By this time, Gary Schultz became more acquainted with Bob Lazar and Bob Lazar agreed to come to speak.
We requested Joe Travis of the Little A-le-Inn to set up 200 chairs outside. Joe said he will take care of it. When both Gary and I arrived at the Little A-le-Inn the day of the gatheirng, we were totally astonished to see a huge military tent right next to the Inn!
What was strange was that we didn't expect such a large military tent to be there. When we asked Joe Travis how he got that tent, he simply said that he borrowed the tent from the base (i.e., Area 51). I wasn't aware then that Joe Travis had a working relationship with Area 51! (the fact of which he really didn't talk too much). The base definitely knew that we would be having a large gathering in Rachel.
(In recent times, it is my understanding that the new security cameras at the present day Little A-le-Inn were installed by military contractors, per gratis or not, I am not sure, although Pat Travis said that the cameras are not connected to anything beyond her operation. As you know, it is assumed that there is a fixed camera on Bald Mountain pointing at the Little A-le-Inn's parking lot).
In any case, there were almost 200 people (from all over the U.S. and even some from Canada) at the seminar/gathering. Remember, this was in 1993. Among the audience was Glenn Campbell, a computer specialist who just moved to Nevada from the East Coast. Glenn Campbell, later on, became an Area 51 activist who was instrumental in publicizing the existence of Area 51 base to a much wider segment of society. By the way, when Bob Lazar arrived at the seminar (he came with a couple of ladies), we were surprised to see his Corvette which had a license plate "MJ-12". It was probably his mockery of the alleged existence of MJ-12. That memorable event was covered by a Los Angeles Times reporter. That was to be Bob Lazar's last public appearance.

According to an alleged W-2 of Bob Lazar (found on the Internet), the SSN indicated on the form does not belong to Bob Lazar but to a lady from New York whose first name was Carol and last name Strong:

Whether that "Carol" had anything do do with Bob Lazar's first wife, Carol, I do not know for sure. Perhaps it was a coincidence that her last name was also Strong.
Everybody knows that Bob Lazar's first wife, Carol Nadine Strong, committed suicide in Las Vegas in 1986.
Also, it is important to understand that by 1986, Bob Lazar was heavily in debt from several banks in Los Alamos, NM, as well as from other financial institutions.

The TV show Finding Bigfoot has a lot of critics debunking the evidence that the legendary cryptid really exists. That now includes the people who appear on the show itself.
Cast members from the TV show have commented in various online forums that they are bugged by the heavy-handed editing don...e by producers of the series, and are not happy that they seem to be putting false words in their mouths. To say nothing of using tricks to make their actual findings more seemingly groundbreaking.
Critics of this kind of documentary-style Reality TV shows have pointed to programs about the Paranormal which seem to build on the gullibility and limited experience of viewers. The phrase "what the hell was that?" is becoming a catch-phrase for the practice.
It derives from the many characters in these shows who utter the phrase as they respond to perfectly normal, and easily explained, phenomenon caught on camera. Usually through night-vision FLIR lenses and "filming" ghosts or the famed Sasquatch itself. This seems to be the case in the latest example of rigged Reality TV.
Cast member and BFRO leader Matt Moneymaker says, in response to a question about one particular scene with typically grainy footage, "... the thing I ran after up the hill was a human - someone who was sneaking around us in the woods trying to watch the production in progress. I said so repeatedly and vehemently at the time, for the cameras, but they edited out all of that in order to make it seem unclear what I was chasing after."
That seems to be all the proof needed. Looks like Reality TV itself is the next Sasquatch. Someday everybody will try to prove it really does exist..
