It was during the early hours of 6 January 1966 in the Cheshire, England town of Wilmslow that extraordinary, and perhaps even other-worldly events were unfolding. Police Constable Colin Perks had begun his night-shift at 10,00 p.m. and had no idea that he would shortly thereafter find himself implicated in a face-to-face encounter with what might very well have been visitors from another galaxy.
In a stunning two-page report filed with his superior officer in the aftermath of the incident, P.C. Perks stated: "Sir, I have to report that I have been in the Police Force for almost four years. I am 28 years of age, a married man and I reside with my wife and child in ["witness's address"]. I am in excellent health and I have no worries of any description."
The officer continued: "On the night of Thursday/Friday the 6th to 7th January 1966, which was a cold clear night and started ["sic"] with a full moon which made visibility good. I commenced duty at 10pm on the 6th and due to finish duty at 6am on the 7th. At 1.15am on the 7th I had my refreshments at Wilmslow Police Station where I resumed normal patrol at 2am on this date where I commenced walking around the village. I was alone on this occasion.
"About 4am on the 7th I was checking property at the rear of a large block of shops which are situated off the main A34 road (ALDERLEY ROAD) Wilmslow. At 4.10am I was still checking property and facing the back of the shops when I heard a high pitched whine, for a moment I couldn't place the noise as it was most unfamiliar to the normal surroundings. I turned around and saw a Greenish/Grey glow in the sky about 100 yards from me and about 35 feet up in the air. I stopped in my tracks and was unable to believe what I could see. However I gathered myself together after a couple of seconds and made the following observations. The object was about the length of a bus (30 FEET) and estimated at being 20 feet wide. It was elliptic in shape and emanated a greenish grey glow which I can only describe as an eerie greeny colour. It appeared to be motionless of itself, that is there was no impression of rotation. The object was about 15 feet in height. The object had a flat bottom.

"At this time it was very bright and there was an East wind. Although it was cold there was no frost. No cloud formation was anywhere near ground level. The object remained stationary for about five seconds then without any change in the whine it started moving at a very fast rate in an East-South-East direction.
It disappeared from view very quickly. When it started moving it did not appear to rotate but moved off sideways with the 30 foot length to the front and rear. It is possible the short side given as 20 feet may in fact be longer as I was looking underneath the object and may have been deceived.
"About 500 yards away from where I was standing there is an electric railway line but the noise I heard was nothing to do with either electric or diesel trains. About 50 yards from where I was standing is a transformer belonging to the Electric Company. This is a sub-station and the noise I heard is of no comparison to the hum from this.
"There is no doubt that the object I saw was of a sharp, distinctive, definite shape and of a solid substance. However I did not notice any vents, portholes or other places of access. The glow was coming from the exterior of the object and this was the only light which was visible. I checked with Jodrell Bank and Manchester Airport shortly after the incident but they could not help or in any way account for what I had seen."
After having received Police Constable Colin Perks' X-Files-like report, his Deputy Chief Constable moved to contact the Ministry of Aviation and from there the report was forwarded to the Ministry of Defense (MOD) at Whitehall, London.
Interestingly, from the publicly acknowledged '"UFO Office"' at MoD Main Building, the report was sent to a covert division of the MoD's Defence Intelligence Staff known as DI61.
Perhaps aware that this was no run-of-the-mill report, DI61 duly dispatched agents to Wilmslow to interview P.C. Perks and to investigate the area where the UFO was seen. "CONSTABLE PERKS WAS INTERVIEWED BY DI 61E(AIR) ON 1ST FEBRUARY 1966," reported Flight Lieutenant M.J.P.H. Mercer in a Restricted memorandum drawn up in response to the DI61 investigation. "He was questioned on a number of points arising from the statement he made on the 8th January."
"WHAT SORT OF NOISE DID THE UFO MAKE? WHAT WAS ITS SPEED WHEN IT BEGAN TO MOVE? WHAT WAS ITS ALTITUDE?" asked the DI61 agents. Impressed by Perks' conviction, DI61 headed off for the site of the UFO encounter.
On arriving at the location where PC Perks had seen the UFO, the DI61 team noted that on the morning following the incident "SOME GLASS LIKE SUBSTANCE" was found on the ground below where the UFO had been seen. Whilst DI61 felt that there was not enough firm evidence in hand to make a definite connection, it is worth noting that their investigation was extremely meticulous.
Having interviewed the P.C. at length, scrutinized his report and visited the area of the sighting, DI61 stated in their final analysis of the case that while "...it is not possible to arrive at any concrete conclusion, there is no reason to doubt the fact that this constable saw something completely foreign to his previous
experience."
With that surprisingly frank - albeit very carefully worded - statement, I wholeheartedly concur.
Two weeks after these remarkable events occurred, P.C. Perks was granted permission to relate the details of his encounter to the Media; however, until the official files were declassified, there was never any inkling that Perks had been visited by the authorities. Had he, perhaps, been advised by his superiors or the MoD to omit this part of the story when speaking with the Press?
It was largely thanks to the publicity afforded the Perks affair that a number of people contacted the MoD offering corroboration for the officer's account. "I DO NOT WANT ANY PUBLICITY AT ALL!" wrote one such person to the MoD. It was twelve months prior to P.C. Perks' encounter, she explained, when an unusual - looking object loomed into view at her hometown of St. Helens, Lancashire.
"IT WAS TOWARDS THE END OF MARCH 1965 [AT"] 4.00PM ON A FINE, WINDY DAY," she began. 'I was in the garden when I heard a very high whining sound. Realizing it didn't sound like an ordinary plane (WHICH PASS OVER VERY OFTEN) I looked up."
On doing so, she received the shock of her life. Moving across the sky at high speed was an object totally unlike anything that she had ever seen before. Egg-shaped and very much like the UFO seen by P.C. Perks, the craft traversed the Lancashire skies with ease.
"THEN TO MY AMAZEMENT," she continued, "and without slowing down, it stopped dead in its tracks and stayed completely still for about 3 minutes. Then instead of keeping its straight journey it moved up into the sky until it just disappeared. The object did not rotate in any way and it did not zig-zag up, but it was just as though it was being pulled up by a piece of string.
"I KNOW THIS STORY SOUNDS FANTASTIC," conceded the witness to the Ministry of Defense, "but I am not given to seeing things that are not there, and I firmly believe this object to be from another world."
She closed her letter: "PLEASE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ANYBODY ELSE REPORTED SEEING ANYTHING LIKE IT, OR IF I WAS SEEING THINGS, BECAUSE IT JUST COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MISTAKEN FOR A PLANE, HOWEVER 'SUPERSONIC.'"
Like P.C. Perks' encounter, this particular one was filed '"unexplained"'.
And still further testimony in support of the constable's report flooded into Whitehall. In a one-page report (FORWARDED TO DI65, A DEFENSE INTELLIGENCE STAFF DEPARTMENT ASSOCIATED WITH DI61), the witnesses - a Mr. D. Winstone and his girlfriend - reported that at 10.50 p.m. on the night of 4 February 1966, they viewed in the vicinity of London ["Author's Note: now Heathrow"] Airport an "EGG SHAPED" object that was "BRIGHT GREEN IN COLOR". In this particular case, the couple's account was reported to the MoD before aspects of P.C. Perks' encounter were made public - effectively ruling out a hoax.
There was also the husband and wife who contacted the MoD to report that they, too, had an account to relate - this time involving a UFO that gave off a practically-identical "WHINE" to that described by P.C. Perks. In this case, however, the couple's experience had occurred in Switzerland!
In other words, whatever the true nature of the UFO seen by Constable Perks, it seems it was most active in early 1966. But, precisely who, or indeed what, was flying the curious device is a matter that remains unfortunately unresolved more than forty years later...

The other day, I wrote about my own UFO sightings in Oregon, (also posted at UFO Digest) inspired by a recent survey of the top ten states for UFO sightings. Oregon did not make that list, though California and Washington did. Interesting how Oregon, sandwiched in between those two states, did not. I wonder what the reason is for that.
Yesterday, I came across this item from Open Minds about an Oregon UFO sighting from the 20th of this month: Witness Sees UFO Reminiscent of 1997 Phoenix Lights.
And last night, a dream about a crashed UFO in one of my "dreamscapes." I have several dreamscapes; they remain the same, with slight variations. I don't often have dreams of this particular one, but when I do, it seems they're always tinged with a mystical element of some sort. This dreamscape is of a valley surrounded by huge mountains covered in snow. So huge and right there, you could almost stretch out your arms and touch them. Where we are is flat, and not full of snow, but it is dry, and quiet, somehow. Out in the open.
So in this setting:
"I'm with some others, including Jim. We're on the third floor of a hotel looking out the window. These mountains are just so huge, looming above us. Very scenic, like a postcard. Pristine little village of a town, in the valley, surrounded by snow covered mountains. All of a sudden, next time I look out the window, I see an enormous rim of a flying saucer sticking up from the ground. It's across the street, behind the buildings. (The buildings are not tall, the tallest ones are only three or four stories.) The rim of the saucer, and part of the dome, are sticking up from the ground, and just... the size is amazing. As is the color; a golden color that shimmers. It's so close! Less than a half mile away. "It is too incredible to think there is a flying saucer there! And, it doesn't make any sense. I tell everyone to come and look; we all try to explain it away. "Oh, it must be a plane," but there is no plane anywhere on this earth that is close to that size. Or, color. "It's a fire, there must be a fire..." but that's ridiculous. There is no smell of fire, or sound, or flames moving. This is a stationary object. We have to accept it: it's a flying saucer all right. "This is confusing since no one heard anything crash, or saw anything in the sky, it wasn't' there, and then, a moment later, there it was! Some of us have the feeling it was always there and we just didn't notice. Some of us have a feeling it didn't crash, but was underground for a long time and something caused it to appear... whatever the reasons behind its appearance, the reality is that it's there. "As I'm looking out the window, I see a group of about with men striding purposefully across the street. Some are wearing lab coats -- all very official. In the middle of this group is Jacque Vallee. I say to everyone that this proves it -- if Jacque Vallee is here, then there is most definitely something very important happening. Here I have a lucid moment. I tell the people I'm with that this is odd; in "real" life, Jacque Vallee looks very different than the man who's the dream Jacque Vallee. Real life Vallee is tall, thin, has hair, doesn't wear glasses, and is good looking. Dream Vallee is short, bald, wears glasses, and, while not unattractive, not George Clooney either. The only thing the two Vallees have in common is that they seem to be about the same age.
There's more, concerning military and morphing character perspectives, but overall, that's it.

It seems as though every time that I think I've heard just about every kind of UFO encounter story that exists, a new one pops up and shows me that (much to my chagrin) I don't know everything. The following case that we will be looking at is rather famous in the annals of Ufology and certainly one of the more unique cases that I've come across. I'm sure many of you will be shocked to learn that I first heard about this from a thread on AboveTopSecret entitled "The Dechmont Woods Encounter 1979". It tells a very fascinating tale of what happened to a forestry worker by the name of Robert Taylor from Scotland. The thread lead me to find some additional sources about Taylor's account. Here it is in a nutshell (source from UFO Evidence):
On the 9th of November 1979, at around 10.30 am, Robert Taylor, a forestry worker employed by the Livingstone Development Corporation parked his pick up off a track at the bottom of Dechmont Law, just off the busy M8 motorway. He walked up the lower slope of the forested hill with his dog, and as he emerged into a clearing an amazing sight greeted him.
Before him in the clearing was a large, circular, sphere like object about twenty feet across. It appeared to be made from a dark metallic material with a rough texture like sandpaper, parts of which were transparent. A narrow flange ran around the outside of the object.
As he approached, two spheres with protruding metal spikes in the manner of old navel mines dropped from the object. They were about three feet wide and made of the same dark metallic substance as the larger object.
The two spheres rolled towards him and flanked him, each rolling at the same time to his left and right foot. With his dog now barking furiously, the spikes attached to the Bob's trousers and pulled him towards the larger sphere. Bob heard a distinct hissing sound and smelled an acrid smell that caused him to choke
The next thing he knew he was coming round lying face down on the grass with his dog nearby. The strange objects had disappeared from the clearing, his legs were aching, his trousers were torn and he found he could not speak.
At this point Taylor struggled back to his vehicle in order to radio for help. Unfortunately he still could not speak and so made the decision to walk back to his home. We'll pick the story up from About.com:
Arriving at this house, his wife was stunned to see his condition. He was covered with mud, and his pants were torn. He began to tell her the story of his experience. His wife wanted to call the police, but Taylor was against it, considering the subject of the matter. He did allow her to call his job supervisor, and the head of the forestry department, Malcom Drummond. He took a bath while she made the calls.
Drummond called a physician, and drove straight to Taylor's house. He was so anxious to find out what happened that he questioned him while he was still in the bathtub. Taylor and Drummond agreed that there must be some kind of physical evidence left on the ground by either the craft or the small spheres, and Drummond headed to the area to check it out, but he was unable to find the exact location.
Dr. Gordon Adams arrived and began to check out Taylor's condition. He found a grazed area on Taylor's left leg, and another graze under his chin. There were no apparent head injuries. At this time, anyway, Taylor's body temperature, blood pressure, and other body functions seemed normal.
Adams called in for an ambulance to transport Taylor to the hospital for a head X-ray and an interview with a counselor. Taylor refused to make the hospital visit until later.
Eventually Taylor would give in and allow the police to become involved in the case. To their credit, it would seem the police handled the whole thing quite respectably. Possible because they had never dealt with any thing like this in the past, but who's to say? The police were able to find physical evidence that something had actually landed, what that something was is (shockingly) up for debate.
Whatever Taylor may or may not have seen it would seem that everyone who knew him knew that he was a man of his word and was not prone to making up these kinds of stories. Probably not surprisingly a mundane explanation has been offered for what Taylor had encountered. Would you like to take a guess as to which astronomical body makes an appearance in the explanation? If you guessed Venus then you guessed correctly, Here from the UFO Evidence post is the explanation in full:
The main explanation given by Steuart Campbell, is that Bob witnessed a mirage of Venus, which brought on an epileptic fit and caused him to hallucinate the whole encounter. Although possible, Bob had never experienced epilepsy before or after the event, although some of his symptoms after the encounter are similar to those experienced by those with epilepsy.
Personally I'm not sure what it was that Taylor saw that November morning back in 79. I can say that I don't think the Venus explanation really fits the bill in being an adequate explanation. The last thing I will leave you with is this mini-documentary on the event in question. Featured prominently is the witness himself. I don't know what it is exactly but I enjoy hearing the witnesses themselves give descriptions of the events that transpired. I guess it's because it reminds me that at the heart of these events is a human element that can often times be overlooked. Whether something genuinely fortean or otherworldly occurred to Taylor that day it's unlikely that his like stayed the same after it was all said and done.

From earthbound optical telescopes, the surface of Venus is shrouded beneath thick clouds made mostly of carbon dioxide. To penetrate this veil, probes like NASA's Magellan spacecraft use radar to reveal remarkable features of this planet, like mountains, craters, and volcanoes.
Recently, by combining the highly sensitive receiving capabilities of the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Green Bank Telescope (GBT) and the powerful radar transmitter at the NSF's Arecibo Observatory, astronomers were able to make remarkably detailed images of the surface of this planet without ever leaving Earth.
The radar signals from Arecibo passed through both our planet's atmosphere and the atmosphere of Venus, where they hit the surface and bounced back to be received by the GBT in a process known as bistatic radar.

"FULL DESCRIPTION OF EVENT/SIGHTING:" I was coming home from college of December 09, 2012. It was a cold, but still silent night when I realized earlier on that I had forgot my wallet and only had enough money for the journey there and a sandwich and I knew I'd be walking home.
As I began to set off from college near the river side stadium Middlesbrough, I looked up above the stadium to see a huge triangular shaped black craft moving silently in the silent night.
There was no noise, it hovered and then left heading east towards Europe. It had three orange/red lights in each corner.
I tried to take a picture, but all I got was black. I believe it's a government vessel, most likely created in the USA. Maybe even after recovered technology from the Germans in WW2.

We are continuing our report on the sightings of strange lights over the town of Guanica which have been taking place since last Friday. The sightings are ongoing. The day after having reported on the huge, classical saucer-shaped UFO, more detailed information was received from another district near the previous one (Vivones).This time the report came from Puig, near the town of Guanica. Behind this district we find the notorious Lajas Valley. Several witnesses reported seeing a strange light, bright orange in color, appear out of nowhere at low altitude close to them. This luminous phenomenon did not make any noise or perceptible sounds. This incident took place at an early time -- 8:10 p.m. -- and the objects maneuvers were a zig-zag in the same location very low altitude before taking off toward Lajas at an incredible speed. Jose Hernandez is not a believer in UFOs and says that he had never seen one in his life until that evening, and cannot explain what he saw with his own eyes. His brother in law added that he nad never seen anything like it either, and that he was impressed to see this object such a short distance away from them.
Two Police Officers from Guanica Report UFO on Guanica Back Road Toward Lajas
Two municipal policemen on their day off were spending time with their families at La Parguera, Lajas. (The officers' names will not be disclosed at their request). When both families departed the La Parguera district, they made ready to return to Guanica using a back road known as Los Hornos, a lonely road that runs from Ensenada de Guanica to Parguera -- deserted and without electric lighting except for some intersections and the odd house.
Taking advantage of the darkness, one of the officer pulled over to urinate. When this physiological imperative was nearly over, he noticed that there was on object nearby -- hovering at low altitude and perfectly dark. Frightened, he ran back to his car. The object suddenly turned on its lights and followed them all the way back to Ensenada de Guanica. The object stopped following them once they reached the area that has good public lighting.

The file states that she "...was carried away to the scope that she whispered she had travelled in space craft to other planets." Ljubicin left Australia on 21 July 1959 "...to conclude George Adamski..." in the USA.A put on of other NAA files found precise titles about Ljubicin, among them files series BP25/1 Ljubicin, S. Surprising registration papers. Yugoslavian, during Newcastle, on the Amarapoora on 23 April 1950. Above and beyond existing was file series A12155 control symbol 528. Dept of Immigration. Ljubicin, S. Innate 15 August 1926.Regardless of this is certain conglomerate in addition to possessions way brace in the 1950's I still residue it of appeal to see what Australian and New Zealand Defence/intelligence files had on them, about the UFO phenomenon.
SHORT UFO FACT: [Earthly evidence comes in the forms of implants which have been found in alleged abductees, cropcircles, and cattle mutilations. Numerous implants have been removed from abductees but have never been found to be extraterrestrial in origin, or tracking devices of any kind.
