The mysteries behind many UFO sightings may never be explained, but what happened over Puget Sound on June 21, 1947 is a mystery that's getting new life in a film.
It's a complex story with many facets, but it that can be summarized like this: At 2 p.m., Harold Dahl was on a fishing boat salvaging logs with his young son when he said he saw six flying discs appear above him over the water.
One of the donut-shaped discs appeared to be in trouble and dropped what appeared to be tons of a hot molten substance in the water and the beach. As the story goes, the heat and debris killed his dog and burned his son.
Days later he was visited by a mysterious "man in black," who told him not to talk about what he saw. He was then visited by two Air Force investigators who were on a classified mission to see him and gather evidence. On the investigators' return to a California airbase, the B-25 they were piloting crashed, killing both of them and destroying whatever evidence they were carrying. The FBI closed the case without any resolution.
It's known as the Maury Island Incident.

UFO SIGHTING IN HOUSTON, TEXAS ON JULY 4TH 2013 - 8-10 RED-ORANGE BALLS OF LIGHT FLYING SOUTH TO NORTH
We went to my backyard, approx. 9pm on July 4th to see fireworks. Immediately we observed a red-orange ball of light in sky moving slow but steady South to North. We watched it silently fly overhead. The light only appears at the front of the object and the back is unlit. Several more appeared on the same path and going the same speed. During these sightings an airplane appeared higher than the objects and you could hear it. During each appearance a bat would appear flying erratically...don't know if that matters but did not want to leave anything out.

walking east on western side of glen jackson bridge. East of portland airport.Directly in landing path of airport. Look up and see small white sphere moving rather fast(well beyond plane speeds. but not warp speed.) heading north. thought it was kind of curious as I stated. In immediate landing path for pdx. plane was coming in but was still way out. Noticed no marking lights or beacons flashing. Looked away for a second to contemplate. looked back up. continued north for another second then without any deceleration whatsoever made an over 90% turn downward. which didnt make much sense until I thought perhaps a dip in the columbia. I dont know. I do know it was cruisin' along at a nice clip and it didnt seem to turn west. It distinctly looked like an immediate turn towards planet surface. Lost it behind structure I was walking to.

Not sure what to think of these two photos of UFOs taken just 30 miles apart. They were both taken on the 6th of January this year.
The photo above was taken by Ernestas Griksas outside of his home in Chatham.
The second, UFO photo below, was snapped by Josh Cummins as he was driving to work at Loughton, in Essex. He told the Sun newspaper, "I nearly crashed. I stopped to take this picture with my mobile. It was like the UFOs were surfing the clouds. They were there for 15 seconds then vanished. I wasn't a believer in UFOs but this made me think again."
The two photos were captured approximately 75 miles from Rendlesham Forest which is sometimes talked of as the UK's Roswell.
The Rendlesham Incident took place outside of a US Air Force base at Woodbridge in Suffolk, England, shortly after Christmas 1980. Various lights were seen in neighbouring Rendlesham Forest by numerous servicemen, who investigated and found an apparent landing site.
This site was examined by the deputy base commander, Charles I. Halt, who took readings with a Geiger counter and was also witness to a flashing light in the direction of Orford Ness as well as star-like objects in the sky.
There is a famous memo by Halt, released in 1983, that told of his investigation. This is a copy of his words:
1. Early in the morning of 27 Dec 80 (approximately 0300L) two USAF security police patrolmen saw unusual lights outside the back gate at RAF Woodbridge. Thinking an aircraft might have crashed or been forced down, they called for permission to go outside the gate to investigate. The on-duty flight chief responded and allowed three patrolmen to proceed on foot. The individuals reported seeing a strange glowing object in the forest. The object was described as being metallic in appearance and triangular in shape, approximately two to three meters across the base and approximately two meters high. It illuminated the entire forest with a white light. The object itself had a pulsing red light on top and a bank(s) of blue lights underneath. The object was hovering or on legs. As the patrolmen approached the object, it maneuvered through the trees and disappeared. At this time the animals on a nearby farm went into a frenzy. The object was briefly sighted approximately an hour later near the back gate.
2. The next day, three depressions 1.5 inches deep and 7 inches in diameter were found where the object had been sighted on the ground. The following night (29 Dec 80) the area was checked for radiation. Beta/gamma readings of 0.1 milliroentgens were recorded with peak readings in the three depressions and near the center of the triangle formed by the depressions. A nearby tree had moderate (0.05-0.07) readings on the side of the tree toward the depressions.
3. Later in the night a red sun-like light was seen through the trees. It moved about and pulsed. At one point it appeared to throw off glowing particles and then broke into five separate white objects and then disappeared. Immediately thereafter, three star-like objects were noticed in the sky, two objects to the north and one to the south, all of which were about 10 degrees off the horizon. The objects moved rapidly in sharp, angular movements and displayed red, green and blue lights. The objects to the north appeared to be elliptical through an 8-12 power lens. They then turned to full circles. The objects to the north remained in the sky for an hour or more. The object to the south was visible for two or three hours and beamed down a stream of light from time to time. Numerous individuals, including the undersigned, witnessed the activities in paragraphs 2 and 3.

Are the two UFO photos genuine? Could they be linked in some way to the Rendlesham UFO incident, even though now some thirty years later? As with all UFO stories it's difficult to answer with any certainty.

Melbourne: The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has recently taken responsibility for at least half of all UFO sightings between 1950s-60s, it has been reported.
A previously confidential CIA document has revealed that most of the sightings were actually U-2 spy planes, News.com.au reported.
The report, 'The CIA and the U-2 Program, 1954-1974', written by Gregory Pedlow and Donald Welzenbach, outlines the CIA's involvement in the development of the U-2 spy plane. It explains how the testing of the planes led to a massive increase in UFO reports.
The sensational 272-page document reveals how the agency tested U-2 spy planes at altitudes of 60,000ft above countries such as the Soviet Union.
At that time, most people were not aware manned flights were possible at these heights so many, including several pilots, reported sightings as UFOs.
In the mid-1950s, most commercial airliners flew between 10,000 and 20,000 feet, while military aircraft such as B-47s and B57s flew below 40,000 feet.
The document goes on to reveal that the CIA cross-referenced UFO sightings to U-2 flight logs and this enabled the investigators to eliminate the majority of the UFO reports although they could not reveal to the letter writers the true cause of the UFO sightings.

I was hiking in the Mojave Desert near Desert Center, CA when I met two men camping for the night to watch for UFOs. They'd been doing this at the same spot for over 20 years and said they'd always see them. At dusk we saw a bright light about 30 degrees above the horizon to the northeast. It was pulsating and moving very slowly toward us. I shot video of it and watched for 5 minutes or so, then went to other things, until I noticed it passing overhead, perhaps 10 minutes later. By then I could see other smaller lights on it, one red and an outline that could have been square but the sky was very dark. No strobe lights. No sound. And estimated altitude of 5,000 - 10,000 feet. I assumed it must be a plane and did not observe it further but we were in a very remote and uninhabited part of the desert and 80-100 miles from the nearest airport at Palm Springs. Since then I've researched and cannot find evidence of the single bright pulsating light on other planes. Multiple pulsating light systems are used when landing and taking off to warn off birds but we were too far from any airport for that. My feeling after seeing this is that it was unusual for the slow speed and the single pulsating light and the fact that it seemed to be used for a beacon to draw attention to it. There was no other air traffic at the time. Later that night we observed normal very high planes at 30,000 feet or more. If this light was a normal aircraft light I would like corroboration of that but until then it is "unidentified" in my mind.

SHORT UFO FACT: [Sometime in August, 1952 during the major UFO sighting wave of that year, Mrs. Suzanne E. Knight, a young housewife and mother, saw a UFO at close range with what appeared to be an occupant aboard. She saw a bright object descending rapidly at a 45 degree angle and thought it was a plane about to crash; instead, the object came to a hovering position at a right angle to her, approximately half a city block away and about 300 feet above the ground. UFO was an undercarriage similar to the gondola of a dirigible; this also contained a row of smaller, square windows and was brilliantly aglow inside with yellow light. FRENCH TOWN'S UFO LANDING PAD WELCOMES FIRST VISITOR
Ar`es, near Bordeaux, southwestern FRANCE, has decided to try and attract Martians to its triangular "UFOport" with its very own fake Martian craft.Made by a local artist, the man-made UFO "landed" on the strip yesterday and, it is hoped, will entice any hesitant extraterrestrials in search of a runway. A plaque reads: "Reserved for voyagers of the universe".The operation has been dubbed: "'Allo Ar`es, ici UFO." UFO SHADOWS AIRLINER OVER PERU, PHOTOAn Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) was photographed during a commercial flight over Per'u around two and a half months ago on June 18.
The object was seen in broad daylight on June 18th during a TACA flight headed from Lima to Piura.
The object is visible along with some detail of the aircraft's wing. Around 3:00 p.m., one of the TACA passengers saw the object beyond one of the wings.
Not believing what he was seeing, the passenger alerted other travelers, and was able to ascertain that they were seeing the same thing.
He then reached for his camera and took the above photo, which wwas turned over to Peru's UFO investigation society.
The passenger is a renowned attorney who requested confidentiality.

The unprecedented wave of UFO sightings and footage that accompanied the tragic earthquake and tsunami that occurred in Japan has not abated. Only this week what is being billed as some of best UFO footage (see video below) ever captured has been filmed at various locations around the country. In one clip a clear saucer-shaped UFO is seen hovering above power lines during daytime hours. In other clips fleets of UFOs are performing manoeuvres that many Japanese observers and scientists are suggesting might well be messages of hope and promise of impending open contact by aliens with humanity by the years end.
To emphasize the connection between natural disasters and UFOs it should be noted that only three weeks ago this publication reported a UFO fleet seen crossing over the Krasnodar region in Russia: Now a crop circle has been discovered in a field in the area that many are interpreting it as a warning of a devestating earthquake that might hit the region.
Russian scientists linked with government sponsored UFO research units are suggesting, in light of this and other events, that open contact might take place as early as September 10 of this year when a UFO following the comet Elenin might land and its alien occupants announce their presence to humanity.

UFO SIGHTING IN MINNESOTA ON JULY 15TH 2013 - LOOKED LIKE THE FULL MOON
I had my dogs outside in the yard. It was after 11 pm but before midnight. I looked up to see what I thought was a very large beautiful full moon in the west. I made a mental note that I should go outside on my upstairs deck later before I went to bed to enjoy its beauty again. When I glanced back up a few seconds later, it had totally disappeared! I was astonished, but figured at the time the clouds must have moved in very quickly. When I came inside, the image of what I had seen (still assuming it was the full moon) was so vivid that I wrote in my almanac that the July 15 full moon was perfectly centered in my viewing field in the west that evening. The next night, I noticed that not only was the "real" moon not completely full but it was still in the south in the sky that time of night! I am somewhat troubled in retrospect...also interesting is the fact that I had felt I needed to make note of it.

Remember when you were young and always connect a certain thing to the shape of the clouds in the sky? Every children's habit when they are bored is to interpret the clouds up in the sky, it could be a huge pillow or a large couch or whatever your imagination brings up. But what if those clouds really have something in them? Like something sinister, scary and frightening? Like "AIR MONSTERS", air monsters may be the abstract-shaped clouds that resembles an angry face or weapons that can cause destruction. What if there's truth to their existence, that demons or monsters hide beneath the clouds just waiting for the perfect chance to cause disaster?
Some UFO experts already claimed that some UFO sightings and weird looking clouds may actually be a proof to alien monsters which fly hundreds of miles above the Earth. The creepy claims can really make anyone get scared when they see an angry face-looking cloud next time.

Another creepy account regardingt he wrath of AIR MONSTERS may be traced back in a story in 1913 called "THE HORROR OF THE HEIGHTS" that imagines semi-solid sky creatures gobbling up aviators. When the hero of the story goes up to get evidence of their existence he never comes back, all that remains is a blood stained notebook that ends with the words:
"FORTY-THREE THOUSAND FEET. I SHALL NEVER SEE EARTH AGAIN. THEY ARE BENEATH ME, THREE OF THEM. UFO SIGHTING IN CHRISTIANSBURG, VIRGINIA ON OCTOBER 7TH 2013 - WAS OUT ON BREAK AND LOOKED AT SKY AS I DO OFTEN AND SAW OBJECT HOVERING AND MOVING
At around 9:10 pm earlier tonight I was on break outside at work. I was joking around and looked at the sky. At first I saw a large slow moving aircraft with bright lights that was being followed by smaller craft, these craft were aircraft as you could hear the sound of the engines as they flew over. This area has a lot of air traffic, the military flies f-15s at regular intervals, at times, multiple times during the week. To the north lies Blacksburg, Va which has a small airport, this airport has various craft from Cesnas, twin turboprop beechcraft and can accomendate for citations and leer jets. Forty miles away is a regional airport located in Roanoke, Va, the craft that operate out of the airport are large commuter planes. Thinking nothing of the large craft overhead as I have seen aircraft at night like that before, I looked to the south and joked if I would see something. A couple of co-workers have said that they have seen something in the night sky previously the week before last. I observed on the horizon a glowing red object, as I watched the object hovered, moved slowly back and forth, then jutted back at an extreme speed. The object continued to hover slowly changing directions, at this time the objected stopped and moved revealing a second object that went in the opposite direction. As I watched I tried to call attention to a co worker who was taking break outside with me, asking him to look at what I was watching. My coworker said,"yeah, yeah, it's a helicopter", there was no sound though. the slow moving aircraft I saw had sound. I was becoming excited and after a few minutes wrote down notes of what I saw and how it behaved. The sighting lasted for approximately ten minutes and ended as the objects left slowly and disappeared over the horizon. I am including a scan of my notes image from google maps of the break area and hill that the object was witnessed and also a short 3d animation of the object as best as I can recreate while my memory is fresh
